For the last couple of weeks I have been talking about how when a multi passionate entrepreneur, meaning that you have a wide array of interests, you have lots of things that you’re interested in and you want to be able to do all the things. You don’t want to have to choose between this thing or that thing. You want to be able to do it all. You want to combine all of your interests and passions, and be able to do those things in your business.
If you’re a multi passionate entrepreneur, I believe that you get to do it all. You can do it all. You can have multiple businesses, but it is going to take some extra planning, extra structure, extra focus, extra outlining.
The first thing you have to do when you have multiple multiple businesses is have a clear defined purpose for each one, because that is what is going to help you know where to put your focus on which businesses, how you’re going to set up each one of these businesses. What it’s going to look like for you to be the CEO in all of these different businesses. What that’s going to look like is going to start and it’s going to be defined by the purpose that you placed on each one of these businesses.
That is something that I don’t see a lot of people do. They just join or they start a bunch of businesses, whatever those businesses are, and they don’t really know why they are within these businesses. You need to have a clear purpose for each one of these businesses.
Now, me for example, I currently have two Network Marketing, Social Selling Style businesses and then my coaching business right now. So I’m running three different things right now. I have my wellness business, which is Modere which is a network marketing business. I have my Copper Rose Boutique business, which is network marketing, and then I have my coaching business, which is this. And so within each one of these businesses, I have a clear defined purpose that each one of these businesses is serving for me in my long term vision for what I want my life to look like, overall.
So for me, my Modere business is my long game business. That is the business that I know I am going to be in for 10-15 years. Why? Because this is a business where the structure is set up that I am going to be able to be earning residual income from this business. I’m going to be able 5, 10,15 years from now still earning a paycheck from the work that I’m putting into that business today. And that is huge. That is a game changer when you have a business whose role is to produce residual income for you.
When you have a business where there is a consumable product where you are able to put the products on auto ship. So people are going to be ordering these products every single month until the end of time because they love them. And these are products that are going to be beneficial to them forever. Not just for a certain timeframe, right. So our collagen, people are going to be drinking collagen from the time they are 20 all the way through however long because it is a product that is beneficial to people at multiple stages of their life.
So when you have a business that is structured like that where you can have a business where you’re going to be able to stack and build and grow it long term and your focus can be a long term vision. I know what I want that business to look like and what I need to be doing now in order to create that long term vision for what the purpose that business has for my life. Does that make sense?
So that business is my long term business, right? That is a business that I am going to be putting effort into knowing that this is a business that when I am 50-60 years old, I am going to have an established residual income coming in from that business. The work that I’m putting in now is going to last me years from now. So that is the focus and purpose of that business for me.
My boutique business is my fun business. That business is for me to get quick cash infusion into my life right now. Today. It’s fun, simple, exciting. It’s something that I can do quickly and easily. I can pop up an outfit and show people that if they want to buy it they can. It is more of a right now kind of business. But long term, 20 years from now, do I think I’m still going to be talking about clothes every single day? Maybe I will but in my vision, this is the purpose of this business is to have a quick fun cash infusion right now, today.
It is something that I know I’m going to be able to earn quickly from right now. People are buying clothes all the time, they’re shopping all the time, they wear clothes every single day. It is a fun thing to do. It is low pressure, low stress, and it is something that is simple that I know that I can grow a team that is going to be simple. I’m not going to have to invest a lot of my time and energy into this because it is a low cost entry into joining. It’s only 10 bucks for people to join me there. And it is just a fun, simple opportunity. That is my vision for that business. That is the way I am seeing it.
Now somebody else might see that boutique opportunity and be like that is something that I want to build for long term. Great! But for me, this is the purpose that that business has in my life right now. And then my coaching business. The purpose for this business is to fulfil my purpose, my passion, my gift is being fulfilled when I am in my coaching space. When I am doing these things, I am filling my own cup while I am filling other people’s cups. I am able to utilise my gifts in a way that is going to ensure that I am being fulfilled and internally. When I am using my gift, it helps me to feel alive and thriving. It helps me to feel like I am doing something productive with my life. So that is the purpose. This is also a business that I know that I am going to be able to build and grow financially.
This is the business that I am able to see the big financial picture for my life. I can see how if I grow my membership that that income is going to almost be residual. It’s on a monthly basis where people are paying for my coaching monthly. My mastermind, I see how I can scale and grow that big. How I can add new people into my mastermind, how as I grow that I can raise the prices and I can grow my income that way. So I can see how this can be something that I can stack and build and grow financially really big. That is the purpose for that business.
So do you see when you focus and you get clear definitions, clear purposes, for each one of your businesses, it is going to help you then see okay, this is where I need to show up for this business. This is how I’m going to show up for this business. This is what I need to do for this business because you’re going to know what each one of those businesses purposes is in your life. How it is going to serve you and so you know what you need to do to grow that. So like for my coaching business, if I know the long term vision for that is to pour out my gifts, what I am good at, what I feel like I am thriving in, what makes me excited and happy.
I also see that as my financial growth structure my financial growth business, then I know okay, my goal then in this space is to get more people into my coaching programs, get more into my memberships, into the mastermind. That is the purpose and the structure of that business. That is how I know where I’m going to focus when I am working that business. When I look at my boutique business, I know that that is my fun business. So how am I going to show up in that business? I’m going to do it when I’m feeling like a little bit of a like a vibe to be like hey, let me take a picture and do my outfit of the day. Right but I’m not going to feel like “oh my gosh. We have a team call. Oh my gosh, I have to do this with my team. Oh my gosh, I’m not doing that. Oh my gosh. I got to talk about this and that.”
That’s not the vibe for that business for me. That business for me is just quick, find simple, easy. Let’s do it. Let’s have a blast. Let’s party it up. That is the vibe for that business for me. And then I look at my Modere business and I’m like okay, long term vision. This is a business that I am going to be building my customer base with. I know if I can get my customers to fall in love with these amazing products. They’re going to want to use them for the rest of their life. I get them on subscription and auto ship, and that is what’s going to stack that residual income for me. I’m going to build the team there and that’s the business where I’m gonna really focus on leadership.
My boutique business, yes, I’m going to show up for my team. I’m not going to just like leave them high and dry. But my Modere business is where I’m like okay, I need to build these people into leaders too. This is the business where I know if I can help other people grow and build they’re gonna be able to create residual income for themselves too. And I want that for my people. I want that for my team. So that is where I know I’m going to show up.
Okay, I hope that this has helped my fellow multi passionate entrepreneurs, those of you who are either already juggling multiple businesses, or if you have an interest in doing so maybe you only have one business right now, but it’s crossed your mind and you want to explore other opportunities that will allow you to either have a variety of your different passions or interests as a part of your brand.
This is the key to making it a success. You cannot have multiple businesses and try to treat them all equally you’re going to have to know what the purpose what each one of these businesses, how they’re going to serve you and your long term vision, your overall goals for your life.
