If you have a social media based business, meaning you utilize social media to get customers, market your business, and get sales then this is for you! These are the 3 mistakes that you might be making that are causing you your sales on social media – and you might not even be aware of them.
More often than not, I see people BLASTING their products online, going on and on talking about their products or services. But here’s the thing, PEOPLE DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT. They don’t want to buy a product or a service; they want to buy a SOLUTION TO THEIR PROBLEMS. So if you’re just talking about how good your smoothie is, people won’t care. Talk about how your smoothie is going to solve their problems. How is your drink going to make their lives better? What will they get out of it? Will they lose the weight they’ve been trying to put off? Will it improve their mood? Get them to exercise? Those are the things you want to talk about, not talking about what the actual product it.
If you’re just talking about the facts, you’re not going to sell as much. But if you talk about how that product is going to benefit their lives, that’s where the magic is.
Think about your ideal client’s problem. What are the things they struggle with? What is keeping them up at night? What are they thinking about when they’re driving to work or going to bed at night? THAT’S what you want to target. Talk about the things that are causing them problems and whatever you have is the solution.
Toooo many times, I see people marketing to people who have the EXACT SAME PRODUCT. If you’re in a network marketing and 50% of your followers are other people in the SAME COMPANY, then giiiirl you ain’t doin’ it right!! You have to start finding people who NEED what you have. You have to market to the RIGHT PEOPLE. A lot of this comes down to many different things, like you’re engaged with the wrong people, using the wrong hashtags, you’re in the wrong groups. Do you even know who that person is that you should be marketing to?? There are so many times that my clients can’t even tell me who their ideal client is.
First things first, you have to figure out who you actually want to help. Who IS your ideal client? Who is gonna benefit from your products/services? And once you know that, you gotta figure out where they hang out. Where do they spend most of their time in? Where can you find them? Are they on FB, IG, Pinterest, Youtube, LinkedIN, or podcasts? Which social media platforms are they using the most, and how do they use those? Are they in groups, pages, or watching videos? When you figure out ALL these things, THEN you will know how to market to them.
If your person is not in the Facebook group that you’re hanging out in the most, why are you even in there?? You’re just wasting your time! If you’re in network marketing and all your hashtags have your company name on it, guess who else is using that hashtag… Only other people in the SAME company. Instead of you finding more customers, you’re just finding new people who already have your product! You have to figure out what hashtags your person is searching when they’re on social media.
There are so many times when I go on social media pages and I read their bios, I have NO idea what they actually do. CLEARLY this is why you don’t get sales because people don’t know what you do! If your Instagram/Facebook bio doesn’t clearly let me know what you do, how you could help me, how you could be of service to me then that is a red flag. Your bio should clearly explain to me point-blank what you do and how you can help me. Don’t go #dogmom #wifey #girlboss … giiirl that won’t do ANYTHING for your biz. You’re only repelling people that might actually need your product.
Tell me you’re helping women feel beautiful, inside out, with all natural skin care products. THAT’S what I wanna know, that’s what’s gonna tell me how to clear my skin up. Right? You want to get super clear on what it is that you do so you can attract people that need your products.
