It all starts with your mind and what you choose to think, the stories you choose to believe and that becomes the energy you put out to the world. That energy you put out determines the actions that you’re gonna take and the results you’re gonna get.
You get to choose what you believe in your life and business, no matter what had happened in the past. That story will become your truth. If you’re saying your business sucks, it’s failing, you’re a failure you gotta STOP RIGHT NOW. If you’re telling yourself anything but the best is yet to come, then you’re setting yourself up for failure.
If you don’t believe that you’re good enough, that you can make it, then you’re putting a cap on you the results that you’re gonna get. If you want to grow past where you are right now, you gotta start believing that it’s possible for you.
If you want to change your belief, all you have to do is change your thought. Change the story that you’ve been telling yourself because that’s the very thing holding you back.
Most of the time, we’d think that they’re not working because they don’t want to grow the biz. Maybe they’re just not into it. But we don’t know what’s happening behind closed doors. There are things they’re not telling you or showing social media. Instead of thinking negatively, think that maybe they just need some support in figuring out how to work the biz into their life. 95% of the time, that’s really what’s going on. It’s not that they don’t want to make it work, they just don’t know how to; that’s where you come in. Help them see how this can be added to their lives as a benefit.
Go into this thinking it’s a way for you to help other people and get them back into the game. Channel the right energy; don’t go into it thinking it’s another task for you. Your mindset should be you’re going to help them change their lives. When you’re ready, this is how you should get into it.
Once you have the people who you wanna do this with – the people who haven’t been showing up in the last 2-3 months – they are the ones you wanna focus on. Reach out to them individually and ask them if they’re still interested in building and growing the biz. But when you open this convo, let them know you get how difficult adding this biz into their already busy lives. It needs to come across as you wanting to support them and what you can do to help them.
They gotta understand you’re not mad at them, that you get that it’s difficult, and you’re not undermining the stress and overwhelm trying to do this on top of all other things they’re already doing. So they will feel seen and they’ll feel they can be honest and vulnerable with you because you get it. Now they’ll feel like it’s safe for them to say “yeah, I actually still wanna work this biz I just don’t know how right now.” When she says that, you let her know about the growth group you’re putting together for team members like her.
I’m doing mine for 8 weeks but you can choose whatever timeline you want. I would suggest 8-12 weeks, but I tell them 8 weeks and most of the time people would wanna continue cos of the friends and bonds they’ve made anyway. And a lot of the time 12 weeks would put some people off cos it feels like such a long commitment. You gotta make them feel this is something they can do and not scare them away.
When you do this with your team, don’t bombard them with everything in one sitting. Don’t tell them okay, these are the things you gotta do from now on. GO. Don’t try to get them from 0 to 100 real quick just because you want those results. That will make them RUN. Remember, you’re not here to try to grow your business, you’re here to help them. You gotta give them bite-sized tasks they can easily accomplish because these people need that small win. And when they get those wins and you’re walking right beside them and holding their hand, that’s gonna make them feel safe build their endurance to keep going. Instead of going from 0 – 100, just see if they can grow 1% every day.
Let them know your growth group (that’s what I call mine but you can call it anything!) is simply a support group that will help them feel seen and supported and they will be able to ask for help from others. It’s a safe place for them to get their feet back in the game.
Have them tell you what their weekly focus is. It’s that ONE thing that they want to be super intentional about for their biz for that week. It can be growing their Facebook group, posting a reel, showing up on social media, recruiting… anything! Just 1-2 things they can focus on for the week. If you give them a whole bunch of things, they will feel overwhelmed and so they’ll tap out. And the reason you’re making them choose it is because they know what’s the best for them and what they’re comfortable with. Have a group chat where they can share their weekly wins, problems, and HYPE THEM UP! You gotta be there to bring in the energy and the good vibes; you’re their guide.
A weekly call for someone who hasn’t been showing up feels overwhelming. Doing a call every other week gives them time and gives them more stuff to talk about too. Let each person share a win and a challenge and have a good chat about it with the whole group. This will make them bond and really connect with the other members. After the first couple of weeks you’re gonna see more people start to open up and be more comfy.
This is the time you’re gonna see them try to get back into the game on their own. If you feel like they can do more things, you can try to suggest doing harder activities or getting on Soul Systems (for me) or something similar. But again, it has to be something they feel like they can actually do and get some wins out of it. That’s gonna be enough to keep them moving and away form the sidelines.
After all this, you can now get them into your more advanced groups – but that’s for another blog post!
If this helped you, then you should listen to the whole episode for a more in-depth view on this!
