What you’ll read below is Melodie’s 4 step roadmap to hit your goals through SMART goal setting and creating a plan that works! Take notes babes, this isn’t your typical SMART goals!
One thing I hear all the time when I ask people what their goals are, they give me these generic answers:
Ya’ll, you HAVE to put a NUMBER on it. This isn’t going to work if there’s no specific number.
You need a to put a DATE for your goals. It has to be a time-bound goal. By when do you wanna reach that extra 1k a month? or that 3k or 5k? In 3 months? or 6 months? If you see something isn’t really working towards your goal, then you’ll have time to tweak it. The worst thing you can do is be generic.
It has to be something that you can break down into actionable steps. Double your lineage in the next 3 months? Then you can begin to break that down – how many people do you need to add monthly and weekly over the next 3 months so you can reach that goal?
There’s no one size fits all way to build your business. You have to find what resonates with you, what aligns with the type of biz you wanna grow, the type of life you wanna live and discard everything that doesn’t align with that. Otherwise you’re not gonna feel that passion to work towards your goals.
Like I said earlier, all your goals have to be time-bound. Don’t beat yourself up though if you don’t accomplish your goals by that time! It’s okay, you can go ahead and bump it to the corner but you gotta have some kinda accountability so that next time you’ll know what to do. You need that deadline because this will help you look back on your progress so you can make necessary changes along the way.
THEN you wanna break your SMART goals down into 3 categories.
Then you wanna choose your top 3 goals from each category that you’re gonna work on for the year and then the rest you can tuck those aside to reconsider next time.
