You don’t need to spend hours messaging people or posting on social media all day to make more sales.
Times have changed with this Social Selling world and if you want to keep up, it’s time to pivot how you are doing things. These 4 strategies are sure-fire ways to ramp up your sales, without requiring you to spend a bunch of time and energy doing things daily for this.
Do something connecting to your brand or product that will be beneficial for your potential customers for FREE. Come up with a challenge or course that will allow them to engage with you; you can do this a million different ways! If you’re into clothes like me, I can create a 5-day course that will educate them about their body types and how to style their clothes based on that. If you’re into makeup, you can make a tutorial – explain why you’re doing your makeup that way and why you’re choosing those colors. You could offer free classes, tutorials, courses, challenges, literally anything. The main idea is you’re adding value to them for free but on the back-end, you’re gonna offer your product as an additional resource. If they’ve seen your makeup tutorial, you’ll send them the products you used, and so on.
AND you can make all of these automated! WHAT?! I KNOW RIGHT. Find an app or a website that creates text blasts or email blasts. You can have them send you a keyword and they will automatically receive a message that you’ve already set up. And since you will automate this, you can just recreate the challenges every time! You can do the same thing in 1,2,3 months and still have new people signing up because there will always be someone who hasn’t seen it before. The best thing about this is you will be capturing all their info OUTSIDE social media. It’s a big no-no to rely on social media because all your accounts can be blocked just. like. that. and you won’t have any backup, you wouldn’t know what to do! So it’s very important that you have a customer database outside social media.
I personally do a live sale once a week based on a topic. You can choose a topic related to your products and go LIVE. It’s best to do this on your personal page because that’s where most of your followers are, but make sure to hype it up if you have other pages or groups as well. It doesn’t even have to be once a week, it can be a HUGE once-a-month blowout thing where you go ALL OUT.
Remember, you don’t wanna go live and just talk about your products, you wanna showcase them. Show them the products you personally use and explain why you love them. Back to the makeup example, you gotta actually DO your makeup during your live and let them know why you’re doing your makeup that way, why you’re highlighting and contouring certain areas of your face, why you’re choosing those colors. If you’re into fitness then you should demo your routine, if you’re into oils then show them how to use and when to use them. If you’re into clothes like me, I actually put on the clothes that I love and talk about the quality, material, styling, fit, and so on! No one wants to just watch you talk about your products, they wanna see why your products are amazing. You wanna educate them and at the same time tell them where to get your products!
My team does a pop-up party altogether. Everyone who wants to participate enters a certain amount of money into a pot, and with this pot of money, we buy different prizes. It can be anything – from gift cards, or things from amazon, etc. During that party, there’ll be posts all day long about the different products we’re offering like jeans, dresses, tops, etc. And we also have power-hours where people that shop during those hours get a chance to win even more prizes. You can just take the same concept and do it however it works for you and your brand! You can even do a text pop-up party – get people text a keyword to get entered and you can have it automated like send them a message every x hours about your products. What’s important here is you’re educating them. Don’t send them random messages like “buy now”, “get this”, people hate that. Lead by educating them – why do they need this, how it will change their lives, etc. If people see that your products can solve certain problems that they have, they will most probably buy them.
This is similar to #1 but in reverse. You’re gonna give them the value after they’ve made the purchase. So it can be like giving them a free guide on how to use your oils after buying them. If you sell clothes like me, it can be sending them a tutorial on how to style jeans in 6 ways. If you’re into skincare, you can send them a freebie like a jade roller. Stores do these freebies all the time, why aren’t we selling like them?? Most of the time, these freebies are enough to push someone to actually purchase the product they’ve probably been thinking of buying anyway.
Bottom-line is how can your potential customers benefit from your products? What value will it add to their lives? What problems will they solve? It’s important that you showcase your products as something they NEED rather than a want.
