If you’re trying to find equality in your life for everything, it’s NOT gonna happen. There, I said it! You’re just gonna end up feeling like you’re doing something wrong; you’re always gonna feel like one part of your life needs more of you and other parts less of you.
I know most of ya’ll are moms, and it’s tough out here ya’ll! We’re always trying to balance our full-time jobs, businesses, kids, and a husband we have to care for, nurturing our marriages, spending time with God… You’re trying to BALANCE all these things, which means you’re trying to give EQUAL proportions of your time and energy to everything. And that’s just impossible. You’re never gonna be able to give equal proportions of yourself to all of these things.
WOW. MUSIC TO MY EARS. Doesn’t that already sound SOO much better? How relieving is it to know that we don’t have to give equal parts of ourselves to everything? In fact, we should simply arrange these roles in a pleasing manner. In a way that pleases you. It doesn’t have to be equal, you just get to make it pleasing. WOW. That’s incredible. Harmony is internal calm. Wouldn’t be amazing to have internal calmness? To feel no stress, no overwhelm, no doubts, no worries, just calm. Well, that’s what can happen when you STOP trying to achieve balance in all aspects of your life and focus on finding your harmony. Focus on arranging your roles and responsibilities in a way that pleases you. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have every part of the puzzle fit together so perfectly? All the pieces may be different but they fit together effortlessly.
In your life and business, it’s going to be impossible to split everything in a fair manner. You’re not gonna have a business that you feel like you’re giving an ample amount of time and energy when you have other things going on. If you continue to look at it that way, well, say hello to MOM GUILT, BUSINESS GUILT, LEADER GUILT, and other responsibility guilts you may have! Only because you feel like you’re not balancing everything fairly or equally. It’s going to make you feel like you’re failing! You don’t need that negativity in your life!
2. Look at your list, and decide where you’re going to invest more energy and time and where you can give less of you. Maybe there are things that you’re investing way too much energy on that don’t really need that much of you. Take note of the things that really need you to be on the top of your game, your full attention, and those are your top priorities. Those things get a bigger chunk of your time and energy, they get a bigger piece of the puzzle. The other things become the smaller pieces that fit around the big ones. They’re still a part of the puzzle but they just don’t take up as much space. Maybe some of these things are the little things you have to do everyday. It doesn’t matter if they don’t get as much time as the others; if they get as much focus (or even more) from you, then that’s all that matters. Shorter uninterrupted times are way better than longer interrupted times.
So take a step back and reflect on how you can find that harmony with everything in your life. You may not be able to split the time equally, but focus on how you can create harmony with the energy and focus that you put in every single role. This is gonna make you feel sooo much better about every aspect of your life, I promise!
As things change in your life, this harmony will also change with you. It will evolve and grow with you.
