If you lost EVERYTHING today, who would YOU be? Often times (if not always) we associate ourselves with external factors. Oh, I’m just a mom, a teacher, a student, a businesswoman, this and that. But can you describe yourself without ANYTHING external? Without any label that society has put on you?
Stop thinking about who you are from the outside because if you do, then you’d start comparing yourself with others that have the same label as you. I’m a mom, she’s a mom, so you compare. She does this and that with her kids, but I don’t. How come she has time for that with her children but I don’t? How come she can do that with them but I can’t? Am I a good mom? Is she a better mom? Then it’s a never-ending cycle of self-doubt. But if you look at who you are internally, those are things that are only yours. And yours alone. Who you are based on your beliefs, talents, faith, purpose are things no one can ever take away from you.
It’s a whole different ball game when we start looking at ourselves from an internal perspective, and that’s what we SHOULD be doing. Who are you? Think of all the beautiful things and talents inside of you. God made you, and every piece of you specifically that way. Stop looking at what we have on the outside – but focus on the inside.
When you start thinking of yourself in that way, you’re going to SHOW UP. You’re no longer just a mom, just a wife, just a teacher. You’re going to show up as that amazing person that possesses all those amazing gifts, talents, and purpose that God has poured into you and you WILL BLOOM. You’re going to SHOW UP as the most powerful, highest versions of yourselves and it is going to be LIFE CHANGING. You will be surprised how much your life will change just by changing your perspective of yourself.
How we feel from the outside will no longer determine how we see ourselves from the inside. From now on, our internal confidence is going to affect and project onto our external confidence and actions. You could lose everything external today, but you’re still going to be you. And that will never change.
